The Propertymark Trust was originally a benevolent fund, founded to support members who had fallen on hard times.

In order to be able to serve the ever-growing Propertymark membership the benevolent fund and its trustees applied for charitable status to allow gift aid to be claimed on charitable donations, bequests to be free from inheritance tax and for dormant or orphaned funds to be received from members in accordance with Propertymark rules.

After lengthy negotiations with the Charity Commissioners charitable status was finally achieved in 2015.

Since then, the Propertymark Trust has been able to grow and widen its remit and support to members in a variety of ways.

The Trust remains true to its founding principles, providing support to members who have fallen on hard times, but is now able to be more specific in the help it provides.

How the trust has been able to support members and staff

Financial support for a seriously ill member allowing them to regain some mobility and move around more freely.

A substantial grant of £9,000 to initially fund the setting up of a property training academy at Brighton Metropolitan College which provides a clear route for young people to enter the profession through local colleges and vocational qualifications.

Over 50 educational and training grants made to members who would have been unable to carry on with their professional qualifications and development due to financial hardship.

During the covid pandemic the trust procured and distributed over 5000 re-useable face masks, for free, to members across the UK.

Donations and support made both directly and indirectly to other charities tackling Homelessness and Mental Health, thorough the Great Agent Big Sleep Out and The Young Minds walk.

Grants for Mental Health First Aiders courses, helping members to be able to spot signs of poor mental health and be able to provide relevant support.

Funding for members webinars and conferences to provide speakers tackling the issues of mental health and stress in the workplace.

The Propertymark Trust is governed by independent trustees who are made up of both Propertymark members and staff.
All applications for assistance made to the trust will be dealt with confidentially by the Trustees.
