Trustees & Ambassadors

Lauren Scott-Simpson

Having started her own sales and lettings agency Trading Places at just 23, Lauren relied on her Propertymark membership for invaluable support during that time. She was voted onto the NAEA Presidential Team in 2017 and saw her Presidency as a way to provide an active role in mentoring and guiding newly qualified agents, or those looking towards a career in the property sector.  In particular, she has a huge interest in supporting women in Estate Agency.  After a very successful presidential term, Lauren was appointed as Chair of The Propertymark Trust, the charitable arm of Propertymark. Lauren has exciting ideas to further grow The Trust, to ensure we are supporting our members and their families.  Lauren’s other passion is her love for horses, she has experienced first hand the healing therapy horses and other animals can give, and is a huge promotor of this to improve wellbeing and reduce stress.  She is a mum to two beautiful little boys, and wife to a very supportive husband!

Sue Robert-Smith

As Head of Operations at Propertymark I am responsible for all the functions that support new and existing members. Balancing my day job alongside being a wife and mum/step-mum to 3 growing boys. It’s important to me to manage my mental health and I regularly attend spin and Hiit classes to de-stress and instil calmness. We all need help from time to time and it’s OK not to be OK, it’s important to know there is support out there for everyone.

Kate Bargey

Kate joined Propertymark in early 2020 as the Executive Assistant to Sue Roberts-Smith. Kate was first asked to help with taking minutes for the Arbon Trust and after just a few months the Trust recognised and valued Kate’s input and asked her to become a Trustee. Kate was thrilled to be asked to join the Arbon Trust and to be part of a charity that supports members, their family, and members employees, truly encompassing the Arbon Trusts values “Our Charity for Our People”  Kate comes with a wealth of experience in property management, project co-ordination and Executive Assistant duties. Kate has organised many successful charity events over the years from charity balls to bungee jumps, sky diving, family fun days and the smartie challenge to name but a few.

David Votta

David, one of our newer trustees is the current ARLA Propertymark president and has always had a passion for charity work and raising money and awareness for everything he turns his hand to. Before setting up his own company in 2018 he was the charity ambassador for the organisations he worked for previously, often organising charity events and inspiring others to give their time up for those in need. David has previously suffered a few tragedy’s in his life which inspired him to not only look at life through a different lens but give up his time and come on board to the Propertymark trust to give back.

John Oakley

John has been a member of NAEA Propertymark since 1968. Having retired from a six branch practice in Kent he is now a freelance property consultant, assessor and verifier for NVQ’s in the property sector.

I have been working in the Property industry for almost 22 years, dealing in all aspects of the sector, I also run my own business and with this I have enjoyed my career to the fullest however it also comes with its challenges and stress and navigating how to work on how to overcome hurdles and challenges. The property industry can be one of the toughest to endure and we all face conflicts and struggles which are difficult and challenging. That is why it is a great honour for me to be a Trustee for The Propertymark Trust, the charity for our people, a charity who can help Propertymark members when they need it.

Phil Keddie

Phil has worked in the South West property market for over 40 years and owned his own successful rental agency, covering East Devon, for 21 years, before selling it and becoming an Expert Property Letting Consultant 4 years ago.

Phil has been a key member of ARLA Propertymark in the South West for some 10 years and was the national President during the first and second Covid lockdowns, so has seen firsthand the stress and anxiety our profession has gone through.

Aidan Reed

Aidan is a Chartered Surveyor and has been involved in the property sector for over 35 years. He has been a member of NAEA Propertymark since 1989 and served on the Propertymark Board for five years.

Megan Eighteen

I juggle many roles from being regional executive for ARLA Propertymark, working practitioner for Lettings but also and most importantly being a Mummy. Depending on the day will depend on what “hat” I wear and ensuring I practice self care is vital to ensuring I keep balance to my mental health and responsibilities. I am honoured to be working alongside The Propertymark trust ensuring that our members are supported in their most needed times
