This weekend, the normally peaceful waters of Fairlop were anything but calm as a wave of paddles, cheers, and charity spirit took over at the Agents Giving Dragon Boat Race.

Propertymark Trust and Propertymark both turned out in full force. Though in the end we were more "Team Effort" than "Team Synchronised," we wouldn’t have had it any other way.

A Hodgepodge of Heroes

Our mighty crew of paddlers was less "well-drilled Olympians" and more "enthusiastic volunteers with questionable balance," but we embraced every splash, sideways start and chaotic turn with enthusiasm. Some of us even moonlighted in other teams' boats when they were short. We like to think of it as spreading the Propertymark paddle power.

The spirit was unbeatable. The laughs were non-stop. And the fundraising was phenomenal. Over £2,300 was raised by our wonderful, mixed-up team of rowers, well above our target. Every penny is going to our favourite industry charities and the amazing work they do across our industry.

The Real Prize

Did we make the final? Not quite.
Did we bring the noise, the energy, and the all-important snacks? Absolutely.

The Dragon Boat Race isn’t really about who crosses the finish line first. Though we did get progressively faster... we promise. It is about industry friends coming together, getting a little soggy for a great cause, and celebrating what makes this sector so special: our people.
